Hot List: Clinique Even Better Concealer

on

I can’t wait to get my hands on …

Clinique’s new Even Better Concealer. I’ve been in the market for a new effective concealer for quite a while now. I’m currently using Maybelline’s Dream Lumi  Touch Highlight  Concealer in Honey, which is a medium beige color dispersed from a wand. The concept of the Dream Lumi Touch Highlight ($6) is similar to Yves Saint Laurent’s Touche Eclat Radiant Touch (which is amazing but pricey at $40). Maybelline’s is a gel based formula that supposedly diffuses light and illuminates. When I use it, I don’t get any radiance or illumination. I do get a mild amount of coverage for my dark circles. It’s not a wow effect, but it works OK for the time being. I purchased it because I wanted to see if I could find an inexpensive dupe for YSL Eclat Radiant Touch. Maybelline doesn’t hit the mark. It only comes in six shades and honey is the darkest shade, which is unfortunate for anyone who has a deep medium complexion or  a tan. It’s even a little too light for me, and I have a medium complexion. YSL comes in more shades and is designed to be matched by the undertone of your skin, which makes it easier to find your perfect shade. I currently wear No. 3 /Peach, which is for medium complexions with peachy undertones. Not only does it seamlessly blend into my skin, it truly illuminates, making it a great highlighter for my eyes, upper cheeks, and my brow area. But darn that $40 price tag.

I would love to purchase YSL again–and I’m sure I will–but I’d like to give Clinique’s new Even Better Concealer a chance. Why? I like, no I LOVE a two-in-one product. Not only is this product meant to conceal. Infused with Vitamin C, it’s also meant to improve darks spots and discoloration over time, making skin brighter and more even-toned. It’s also available in 12 shades. And it’s $19.50. Holla! From the reviews I’ve seen online from users, it seems most women are into it. So why not give a chance? Plus, I have a card that entitles me to a FREE two-week supply of its partner in crime Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector. (Now you know, I’m all about free samples and gift with purchase!)

Stay tuned for my review!
